Mid-week

  • Received another computer, this time from Iain Tyre.
  • Loaded Mandrakelinux on a Pentium III computer at the Community Centre.
  • Mum is out at COG with Ann.
  • Mum's magazine arrived (Birds & Flowers).
  • Enjoy reading Isla's blog.
  • Have had great fun learning Pitmanscript, which does not seem very popular, but is easy to learn and 100 words per minute is possible (if necessary) with it.
  • Was out when post arrived today, so will collect Linux computer tomorrow morning.
  • Plumber has decided the shower rose has cold water delivered from the loft tank, so a reducing valve is not necessary (and may cause trouble later, he says, anyway). Anyway, the new rose seems to have solved the mixing problem. So to deal with the other problem, condensation on the cistern...either replace with a narrower plastic cistern or a cavity plastic cistern. Canadian system of polystyrene sheet inside the cistern not known about here.
  • Turning cold here and leaves have disappeared.
  • Have booked up with Margaret's sister-in-law in Edinburgh for the rugby date with Robert and family.
  • Cheapest insurance Mum can get (age!!) is over £40 for the bulb field week in Holland. Under 70 is £14.
  • Rangers play Celtic in a Cup quarter final tonight.
