Bullet List

  • Twice down town on the bicycle. Weather good. Met some American women who lodged here in 1960's... almost opposite Harry Derret's shop. Last big house on Argyll road
  • Made celeriac/carrot/onion soiup today
  • Almost handed over doing the church envelopes to Captain Roy Smith
  • Have borrowed a copy of ECDL by iACT (ISBN 0-9539454-6-4) www.iactonline.com which is being used at James Watt College classes...a "driving licence" course, but I was following the Power Point chapter...uses Outline (which is part of Word, anyway..I used it to write a short booklet on crosswords)
  • I bought a copy of WebPlus 9 from Serif...should cover everything we have done in classes. It's a legitimate disc!
  • Also was presented as a "gift" with some other purchase of Corel Draw 8. I don't know what the latest version is.
  • The Community Centre want us to install Linux on any machines we get working. Their favourites are Mandrake and Fedora.
  • I've been dabling in Pitmanscript and found it very re-readable. It does not claim to offer any higher speeds than 100 words per minute, but speed is not all-important.
  • Finished the Guild syllabus cards, which were issued on their first meeting to-day.
  • Just have tickets to make for Marian Fletcher...dinner at the Grammar School
  • Work has started in the playing fields of the Grammar School, laying drainage pipes...the start of the New Grammar School.
  • Acquired one of Sinclair's computers...never out of its box.
