Round the Island
This Is Summer! Carol Jackson, Elma and Margaret and Marion and I parked the car in Largs car park, got over free in the ferry and while the others walked north and round the island anti-clockwise, I took the bus to Brodick (every 15 minutes!! crowds of children) and hired a 3-speed upright, light frame. I cycled via the south point and mid-way up the island to the cafe, where I had just finished a coffee when the others appeared. I have copies of photos on a disk. AND a disk of books (for Alison).
I think cycling rather than walking is almost a must for me. I doubt if I could have walked that 10.8 miles.
I have a disc of photos of Shona's communion on the way. Another marvellous day. Hospitality was free, which amazed an old Scouse!! I hope the photos show the layout of house, garden etc.
I must say Shona was a picture, looking in many ways like Robert at that age. Her dress had been bought in Menorca and she liked the collar and the cross from Gran. A-M had done her hair pulled back to almost a bun, very attractive.
Mosquitos were a problem at Robert's, who had been advised by the Spanish that aniseed liqueur was the answer.
