Perhaps I'll be clear of spam and intrusive mail! It's worth a try.
Well, the weather has been excellent today. I had lunch at the Kirn centre, but Mum had booked up to go a walk from Ardentinny to Lochgoilhead. In fact they were transported quite a part of the way by small bus and returned from Lochgoilhead by bus. But she felt fitter than quite a few others (about ten).
I finished the garage walls and gave them another coat. Then I sealed the floor (the half that was left), ready for the proper coat of floor paint (grey). We have put up a card in the Co-op and Supermarket for anyone to take away the table. It was made by friends of uncle Marshall and is still in good order. I've found a spare blade for the band saw.
No Web Page class today since David Houston wanted to go to a meeting with Cal-Mac people who want him to do a class for them. The possible IBM class has been postponed till November, since IBM are reducing their staff quite a lot. They sold the manufacturing of computers to a Chinese firm. The Web Page class will be tomorrow. I seem to be further on than I expected, after I asked several people how they were getting on.
I was annoyed with one of the pupils yesterday since he was going to use Partition Magic to make an E drive on one of the computers and he did not call me over. He did not really believe my procedure for loading Partition Magic and insisted on David going over it with him! He is working on his third computer, trying to get it to work. He borrowed a ribbon strip to isolate that as a possible fault.
I've been writing notes on Java at home to get to grips with the windows and handling events... seems to long winded, but don't know if a "Visual" Java version would be any simpler,...clicking in things like Visual Basic.
I've been looking at Python and am very impressed with it. It has taken me several weeks to get a tutorial in Tk for Python, the windows side of the program, but I got one the other night, which seems to work.
David is also interested in changing the computers in the network to suit his ideas and naturally he uses us as teaching guinea pigs, so that might be another course he will have for us...on net working. He is also going on a three or four day course on Spam and Viruses, so he plans to let us know what it is all about. So far I've only been invoiced for £35.
Somebody dunted the front bumper of the car and moved it half an inch. Needs a replacement. Almost like what had happened to Isla's car a while back, but not as serious.
I'll have Meals - on - Wheels tomorrow morning, ...I might go up to the class for a short time first. Mum is making pudding and other meals in preparation for Mrs G. coming. We hope to go on a trip on the Waverely round to Lochgoilhead. I hear the ship will be going to Ireland for a trip soon....one of the Northern Ireland ports but not Belfast.
I see a lot of puzzles in a booklet from a newspaper www.firebox.com but there does not seem an address to write to, to enquire if they also supply answers!!! Love to all.

What a surprise! That is great Dad. I'll enjoy checking in every day. I bet Mum is tired after her walk. Love you lots, Alison
