A big step forward
Gordon MacKenzie bought six SuSE disks and two books from the Hospice shop for £3!!! So we used them to load two of the discs on the computer we had added XP to. So easy compared with my attempts several years ago. We had OpenOffice working. We could see that editors like vi and vim were being loaded as well as Perl, Java and C. Cann't wait to let the others see it!! I was even half-way to creating an e-mail provider...just forgot the details which were at home.
Well the garage floor is nearly done. Just a patch of oil based, grey paint to go under the washing machine when I can move it over the area I've already done.
I also had meals-on-wheels to do this morning. Rosemary White's Mum is not well..one of our regulars. Mrs Jackson died (remember a group were going to Auburn, where her daughter Carol lives).
More later. Love to all.
